Introduction
In the heart of the Loire Valley, at the gates of Burgundy, perched on its hill, Sancerre is like an old lady with her feet in the vineyards and her head in the clouds.
A town of character and terroir, its cobbled streets and ancient houses whisper centuries of history.

Witches watching over the town
On the doors and windows of the houses, witches keep watch. Intrigued, I asked a shopkeeper about it. She smiled. In the Sancerrois region, the witch doesn’t frighten, she protects.
The Berry region is an old land of legends and witchcraft. Hanging in windows, these witches ward off bad luck and watch over the home: silent guardians of a world that still believes in a little magic.

Wandering through the streets
Walking through Sancerre feels like stepping back in time. Every corner reveals stone facades, hidden courtyards, and centuries-old architecture, all beneath the wide skies of the Loire Valley.
The countryside around Sancerre
Just beyond the town, the countryside unfolds in green hills, vineyards, and quiet riverbanks, a peaceful contrast to the medieval streets above.
